How I Self-Published: Donna Cronk

Join Taryn for an interview with Donna Cronk, author of multiple books.

Lifelong Indiana resident Donna Cronk spent 37 years as a newspaper journalist, working in various capacities from reporter to page editor, columnist, and founding editor of a local women's magazine. Once her sons were grown, she wrote and self-published an inspirational novel, "Sweetland of Liberty Bed & Breakfast," then a sequel, "That Sweet Place: At Home in the Heartland." Her business model includes offering a variety of programs that loosely relate to themes in the books for social and service organizations, book clubs, libraries, and banquets. She tailors each program to the specific needs of each venue. Her latest book was self-published last year, inspired by cleaning out her home and storage spaces during the pandemic. The memoir is called "There's a Clydesdale in the Attic: Reflections on Keeping and Letting Go." All three books are also available on Amazon in print and kindle versions. Donna stays busy writing interactive programs to go with the new book. Donna is retired from her newspaper career but still writes a regular column about home, family, and aging topics for three Indiana papers. Last year she was a featured speaker at a statewide conference. Married to Brian, a retired public school principal, they are parents of two sons. Donna is active in her church and in a writers group she co-founded.
