Websites
Squarespace
Squarespace is where we got our start. It is our all-time favorite website-building platform. You can get started easily and your website will grow with you as your business grows. You can also sell your own products and services straight from your Squarespace site, which can help you grow your income without paying for additional services. Squarespace offers a free 14-day trial for new websites.
Kajabi
We switched to Kajabi for about a year when we started offering online courses. We’ve since switched back to using Squarespace because they’ve added membership features. Building a website on Kajabi requires a higher level of time and skill than building on Squarespace, but it is a great choice for some people. To get a free 28-day trial, click here. (affiliate link)
Email Marketing
ConvertKit
ConvertKit is Taryn’s favorite choice for growing an engaged email list. It’s a robust software that’s built specifically for writers. It integrates seamlessly with Squarespace to make it easier to email customers (from your shop) and members (from your course or membership). Additionally, you can offer paid newsletters and sell digital products & services directly through ConvertKit. Click here to learn more. (affiliate link)
Flodesk
Flodesk is an affordable, aesthetically-pleasing email marketing software. It currently lacks features and integrations compared to ConvertKit, but it can be the right choice for some writers. Click here to learn more. (affiliate link)
